Whining coming from the distributor on my 02 sonoma?

it happens for 5-10 minutes after i start my truck. it sounds like it coming from the distributor and when i put my hand on the distributor it vibrates in coordination with the whining. so i assume it is the distributor. does this make sense with anyone else who has had a distributor changed? how much for labor and parts?

Car has hard time starting,?

1997 volvo 850r, true mileage unknown. Car has hard time starting, sometimes it fires right up and sometimes it takes several minutes of trying. When it does fire up, it runs beautiful with no issues. I am getting NO check engine light. So far I have replaced, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor and I am getting ready to do fuel filter tonight (never replaced). Fuel pressure is good and all relays are ok. Somehow I doubt that the fuel filter is the problem but could it be? any other suggestions?

I broke my foot 2 years ago on the side of my foot in 3 places. My car is not able to idle, what could cause it to do this?

Sputtering engine on 92' Ford F-350 will start but not run properly?

I have a 92' Ford F-350. The truck ran fine until I washed the engine (gently) with a hose. It may not have anything to do with the problem but the truck will start and run very rough. The engine sputters as though there is a fuel loss and a slight knocking noise. if you apply fuel it will pick up RPM's, but still the same rough run. The distributor cap, wires and rotor have been changed. Ignition module has to be in the cab as it is not mounted or found on or near the distributor. The plugs are new (4-months) but I will change them again. no trouble lights, no diagnosis from a trouble meter. I will OHM out the coil pack anything else I can do to make my beast run?

not turning over has nothing to do with a tune up, even if you missed the firing order or didn't put cap on at all the engine should still turn over. sounds like a bad connection at battery or maby a starter issue, wouldn't think battery because you were starting it before, unless you have been having a issue with it. maby ignition switch. if suspect ignition switch. use test light to probe small trigger wire on starter, if the wire lights the test light while turning the ignition on then not ignition switch.

since it is a 1997 i would just for gp replace the coil and the crank case positioning sensor.and depending on what else has not been replaced since you bought it i would change the wires and plugs too. save you some headaches in the future. and hopefully that is all you will need to do to fix the problems in your ignition. good luck. a position sensor cost me$75 and the coil cost me $40 just for comparision

97 jeep grand cherokee cranks but won't start, no spark at the distibutor, it's a 6 cyl 4.0?

At an auction, it ran fine until some jerk messed it up to try to get it cheap, now it won't start, what did he do? A employee tried to get it to go, but said it has no spark at the distributor. I figure it can't be a major repair, but could be wrong? He also cut a hole in the radiator hose so it will leak, and switched plug wires so it ran rough, but now it only cranks. The back 3 injectors on 7m Toyota dont work?

I have a Toyota 7m engine and i have a problem with my injectors. I have got spark from my distributor and the spark continues to the sparkplugs but there is no combustion on the rear three cylinders. I know this because when the car is idling i can remove spark cables from distributor and there is no change in how the motor idles. Cables 4,5,6 are the ones i can remove. I have tried switching the impulse wires as well as the power to the injectors but it still doesn't work..Can anybody help?

Why will my homelite trimmer not start?

I have a Homelite St-385 string trimmer, with a Walbro carburetor on it, 2 stroke engine, and no matter what I do, it will not even attempt to fire. I pull and pull and pull, and it wont fire. It had a good bright blue spark, just replaced spark plug. I replaced the diaphragm and gaskets on the carb, and cleaned it up. When I take out the plug after trying it several times, it's saturated with gas, and I don't know why. It's like it's trying to run extremely lean. The compression is a little low on it, 100psi, but it should still attempt to fire with that much compression. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I am fixing to turn 18, I was stupid and had sex one time. It has almost been 3 months and I'm still having a period, its not heavy but not light. I have been having cramping and a lot of tightness in my lower tummy. A LOT of tightness when I do heavy lifting or bend over, kinda like my skin shrinks and stretches when I lean back up. My lower tummy also feels a little tougher...almost harder. I'm not sure what to do because a test comes back negative. My car is lagging when I accelerate?

I have a 99minute Nissan sentry gxe ... I need help yet again... my car is having a very hard time accelerating.... it was doing this before until it eventually broke down and i had it towed to a shop where they said it was the distributor. I had them putin a used one... now a few weeks later im having the same problem. It willis be fine for aa few minutes after i start driving. When i am stopped the tachometer needle will dip below 1000 rpms...when I push on the gas pedal there is a big lag before I accelerate. The tachometer will move up to 3500rpms but I wont get any speed for a bit. Other times the tachometer will just stay down or move up and down slightly... I don't really know how to explain it... any help would be great. Is this sounding like a big fix? I already paid the shop $86 for them to just diagnose it wrong...

No spark at the plugs.?

I have a 93 Chevy c1500 4.3L v6. I was driving it the other day and it just quit on me, it will turn over fine when I try to start it but, I found out there isn't any spark at the plugs, I replaced the Ignition coil and Module, and the distributor cap and rotor look to be in good shape, I'm puzzled on what else it could be... Any idea's?

Okay. We're best friends and really close. It's hard to read him and we fight a lot over the stupidest things and then he calls me a *****... anyways, he always "likes" all my closest friends and one of my very best friends (she can read people, she took a class in it) says he does that to make me jealous. One time, I spit water on to him and he threw me to the ground (I was surprised) and like leaned over me sort of. It was weird. Well, I don't know what else to say besides that after typing all of this it sounds like he only likes me as a friend. What do you think? Oh and sorry this is so disorganized. Oh my god. PLEASE help. Fleas or bedbugs?!?

I've got this little red bites all over. They're very itchy. I've done some research to try to figure out if they are from fleas, or bedbugs or something else all together. I put a picture of some of the bites up, the quality isn't good but its the best I can do. I do NOT have carpet in my room and my mattress is brand new. We just got it a few months ago. And we have no pets and don't live close to anyone that does so I have no idea what these bugs are or where they came from. Anyway, I was leaning towards fleas, because I have seen some of these bugs crawling around on my floor. I have seen them jump, which makes me think they're fleas. They're small and black or brown. They aren't hard to squish though? I've killed probably six of them with a book in the past hour. Also, I saw that fleas mostly bite your lower legs and I only have on bite on my ankle and several on my thighs, behind my knee, my upper arm, and a few on my stomach. Also, I read bed bugs hide in clothes and my room was VERY messy with tons of clothes everywhere. I just cleaned it yesterday, which is when I started seeing the bugs. I've only seen them on the floor. I just really need to know what these are so I can know how to go about getting rid of them. Mercury Sable won' start?

I am working on a 1990 Mercury Sable. with 3.8 liter V6, for my elderly mother in law. The car ran fine. It leaked coolant, so I suspected a head gasket. Years ago I fixed my ’90 tbird with the same engine same problem. After reassembly, the car started, but ran very poorly, and very rich, with black smoke. The engine would not rev over 4000 rpm. I thought the injectors were not working. After testing resistance and voltage I found they were. I changed the fuel pressure regulator, then the car would not start at all. It tries to start, almost, like the timing is off. I did not move the distributor during my gasket replacement. I live about 200 miles away and work on it once a month or so. I want to get it running as it was before the change, I am lost at what may be wrong. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you in advance. earlt57@gmail.com

What is the most likely reason my engine is missing at high RPM's?

The car is a '68 Firebird with the original, but fairly recently rebuilt Pontiac 5.7L 350, 4 speed trans, upgraded to 4 BBL carb/intake, and HEI distributor from a '75 (previous owner installed, don't know much about it). This has only started in the last month, and is not really all that bad, however, it's enough for me to take notice. Typically, it only seems to start happening after the engine has been running a while and is completely warm...the most noticeable and the worst being specifically at pretty high RPM's when I'm getting on it and taking off wide open throttle. I started a simple process of elimination by checking the plug wires, which are brand new... they were all properly connected at both ends. I checked the plugs, also brand new and correctly gapped, for any build up... they were all clean. I reset the timing around 6 - 8 weeks ago as well. I'm about out of ideas, and am wondering if maybe a higher performance dist and coil such as PerTronix or MSD would fix this problem(?). I had planned on eventually making the switch regardless. What else could possibly be the cause?

I got two pet rats from the local animal shelter the other day. I got Oreo the day before Snickers because I didn’t realize that it is best to get more than one. They are both about six weeks old and litter mates. Yesterday I noticed that they were wrestling. They kept rolling around on top of each other and making soft squeaking noises. I can’t tell if their fighting or playing. They chase each other around and tackle each other. Last night they kept wrestling for like an hour I would get them to stop sit down and they would do it again. Is it serious? I can’t tell. I take them out of the cage everyday and hold them and I haven’t seen any scabbing or bleeding. Is this normal? Can it lead to something more serious? Please help. Sounds like you have a handle on what happened. I would suggest you try cleaning your ears every month or so with an ear cleaner like Debrox. Or you can mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and alcohol. This mix is also very good for swimmer's ear and long earred dogs.( I had a basset and a cocker spaniel.) If a person does not have the wax build up, or for cats, leave out the peroxide. Another thought, sometimes you can get a pimple inside the ear canal that can open up and bleed. Get your mom or dad to look in and see what they can see.

So I have to make the most important decision in my whole entire life choosing a career. I have already gotten into USC pharmacy school but I have also always had a passion for becoming a medical doctor preferably internal medicine or dermatologist. I am completely lost with my life and don't know what to do. Is it worth it to become a pharmacist in the long run or to become a medical doctor. I heard the schooling for both is hard. Ipod is completely unresponsive?

i have a purple 16 gb ipod nano 4th generation. today it was working just fine. i was playing solitaire on it before class started then i put it away into my pocket. i wasn't sitting on it or leaning on it in any way. when i took it out to listen to it on my way home, it just wouldnt turn on at all. i thought it might have been dead but when i clicked the buttons i didnt get the "connect to power" screen. resetting doesnt work. i plugged it into my ipod dock when i got home and it did nothing. i plugged it in to my computer and at first itunes doesnt recognize it, but after a while it shows up and says that my ipod is corrupt, and asks if id like to restore. when i click restore, a window pops up and says "extracting files" and when thats finished the window just closes and itunes freezes up. i have no idea whats wrong with it. but i cant afford to buy a new one. Having trouble starting car after sitting there over-night?

hello. A month ago, my honda civic (2000) wouldn't start after sitting a few hours. My engine light came on and they hooked up the computer and it said it was possibly a timing belt or that sensor. Well, the sensor is in the distributor and the mechanic said it was the distributor that needed to be replaced. did that and it worked fine for about three or so weeks and then i would notice occassionally for the last week that it would take a second or so longer than it should to start up - just enough for me to notice something may not be right. but I thought maybe it was related to the new part. this morning though it wouldn't start for like 30 seconds. It started fine after I got it started that first time and there are no lights coming on to indicate something it wrong. But I know somethings not right. I've already placed the fuel filter a while ago so it's not that. Any other suggestions?

The engine makes four strokes to complete the cycle, so there are two times that the #1 piston is at TDC. Once for the compression stroke and once for the ignition stroke, so you may be lined up but 180 degrees off. Pull the distributor up and out, then bring the engine back around to TDC an drop it back in. Too many times i have taken over a rebuild job that does not start and the thing is off 180, so i reset the distributor on the next stroke cycle and it fires.

No spark in 1997 Chevy Silverado 5.7, not fuel pressure/regulator problem?

I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado. It doesn't spark at the coil. I have replaced/checked ignition module, disgtributor cap and rotor, crank sensor, camshaft sensor and ignition harness. It's not a fuel pressure problem. Took everything off the distributor earlier and put back on and the truck started and ran fine. Shut it off and it wouldn't start. It cranks over and over but no spark. Took the coil plug off and checked and no spark. Any suggestions on what else to check? I don't have an ohms meter or voltmeter readily available.

When I start my truck up it runs for a couple of seconds just fine and then it just stalls out. I cleaned the plugs (all have spark) and put in a new distributor cap and rotor in. I can keep the engine running using starter fluid, during which the injectors are just dripping but they spray fine right after start up before it stalls. I think It might be the fuel pump or the relay for the pump. I can hear the pump turn on when I turn the key to on but it sounds a little dull (and im guessing thats why it has just enough to start the engine). Im hoping its just a relay problem and not a 100 dollars fuel pump problem with tons of labor.....

pull the cap off, crank the engine and see if the rotor turns. there,s a small cog on the end of the distributor and they sometimes will get chewed up stopping the rotor button from turning. another thing you can check too. under the rotor you have a pick-up coil. the wire burns off of it and you won,t get any spark. if that,s the case then you have to pull the distributor, take the bottom cog off and separate the distributor shaft to put a new 1 in.

Try replacing that wire that plugs into the coil. If that doesn't work you may have a defective coil or you will have to find out why the coil is getting fried. Sometimes a vehicle will start up and run fine till the coil gets hot then shut down. And yes, a crappy coil can cause the problem you are having. You can usually feel it sputter when you give it throttle and feel the misfire. I would recheck the distributor and rotor, the gap in the plugs, and the spark plug wires. If you have a bad coil and improperly gapped plug there wont be enough juice to bridge the gap and make enough of a spark to ignite the fuel, hence the misfire.

Hello, I have 97 V6 Nissan Pathfinder that starts, idles, and runs great but after about 30 minutes it stalls as if someone turned off the ignition. Sometimes I can start it right up again and sometimes I need to wait. When it does not want to start right up, I have verified that it does have spark and it does have gas pressure to the injectors. A year ago I had my distributor replaced when the car died on me on a drive. But until now I have had no issues. It does have an engine code for a dirty catalytic converter but the engine runs great and I have not lost any power. Any guesses? :-(

Get a can or two of spray-on engine cleaner, & find a place that the grease/soap dripping off the engine won't hurt anything. Warm the engine up a bit, & spray it with the cleaner. Let it soak per the directions on the can, then hose it off. The distributor will be on the upper part of the engine & have a ring of wires going into the top of it. Just a note - It is possible that there isn't a distributor, too. Also watch for the engine air filter.

What should i do about the oil on my spark plugs?

I have a 1986 camaro 2.8 V6 and its been acting up lately, hesitating, sputtering, etc. I replaced the distributor and spark plug wires but no luck. then i discovered the car ran better (still not perfect of course) when the #6 spark plug wire was disconnected, so i took the #6 plug out and it had oil all over the thread. this is the only plug that had oil on it. i dont know much about cars but obviously oil shouldnt be in there. does anybody know what it could possibly be or how to fix this?

2001 Dodge 2500 ram van 318 v8?

i own a dodge ram van and cant get it started. Heres what happened, i put in fuel at a gas station then it ran for a minute after and than stalled out. For the past few days the "check gauges" light has been coming on. I can pour gas down the intake but i get no reaction from the motor, i think i might have a weak spark? i cant seem to get it to arch off the distributor, someone said cam position sensor? Any ideas would be great!

Engine problem with my 1993 Chevy suburban 4x4 1500?

I have a 1993 Chevy suburban 1500 4x4, with a 5.7 350 engine. It started running rough, and would chug at idle and feel like it is cammed. I would go to take off at a green light(not fast, just at a regular speed) and the engine would shut down for about half a second and then start back up. My oil pressure gauge was also acting up and would sometimes turn down almost pass 90. About a month ago i was driving down the highway and hit the accelerator hard to pass someone and my car stalled. I replaced the fuel pump, but that did not help anything. I looked into the throttle body and when i crank my car i can see the fuel shooting in, but it wont start. A mechanic friend of mine told me that a bad oil pressure sensor will prevent chevys from starting sometime. I havent replaced this yet, but i know that wouldnt have anything to do with my car running rough and missing before it broke down. There is also a pinhole leak by my left valve cover on the block which coolant leaks from. I think it might be related to the coils or distributor, but im not sure. I would appreciate any knowledgeable answers. Thanks

Need help with a Workout Plan to get Lean Ripped muscles?

Ok so ive done too much reading and melted my brain. I need some help creating a workout AND diet plan that will help me lose weight and build lean ripped muscles WITHOUT weights (as i have no gym access but i do have a barbell but not very many weights). I am 5'10 206lbs and I am tired of being fat and uncomfortatble with myself. I used to have a lot of muscle mass back in my High School football days but seince working i have stoped working out and just got overweight. Im 22yo and i shouldnt be self concious about taking my shirt off in public. So im not to sure on what would be the best workouts to accomplish my goal, so some exercieses and tips would be greatly appreciated. Im willing to workout 5 days a week with a light cardio on the weekend and cardio everyday.... Some help with a workout plan and a diet would be greatly appreciated thanks :)

I have an '09 Hayabusa, I have a Dunlop D616 on the rear and like it. It has deep tread, slightly strange looking, but deep tread.
