Can I use a garden hose to wash my car's engine?? How to wash engine?

Get a can or two of spray-on engine cleaner, & find a place that the grease/soap dripping off the engine won't hurt anything. Warm the engine up a bit, & spray it with the cleaner. Let it soak per the directions on the can, then hose it off. The distributor will be on the upper part of the engine & have a ring of wires going into the top of it. Just a note - It is possible that there isn't a distributor, too. Also watch for the engine air filter.
