What causes a 97 dodge stratus to have a misfire on the first and sixth cylinders?.?

first reading was cylinder misfire n1 and n6. replaced the spark plugs gaping them and the wires. we also replaced the distributor cap. check engine light came back on had it read now says cylinder misfire n4 and n6
