How can I convince my parents to let me have snails instead of a dog?

Giant African Land Snails are hermaphrodites. There is no male/female. They will reproduce if you get more than one. Even then, they caan reproduce solo, though most won't. Sorry but your parents are right. Plus if you're in the USA, they are illegal here.
