1997 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cyl, no start, just cranks, no spark at distributor, ?

There is a jeep at a auction that ran fine until a crap dealer messed it up in order to get it cheap, last week, but he did not get it, the seller wants more than his 725 bid. Last week he switched plug wires and cut a hole in the upper radiator hose to make it run bad and leak antifreeze. It was fine before he screwed with it, I know because I drove it before. Now it is still up for auction, but I looked today, before the sale tomorrow, and now it won't start, just cranks, and will sell as inoperable tomorrow. A worker told me he checked and it has no spark at the distributor. So, is this a easy fix? Did the crappy dealer do more to it, and what would make it do this? What do I look for? Again, now it cranks only.
